Big Screen Business Vista Media Center Application Updated

Check out the screenshots of Mobilewares Big Screen Business application. It has great 3d application, and features:

  • Monitor Global Markets and Indicies.
  • Create your own Custom Share Watchlists.
  • Monitor your Profit/Loss on Holdings and Options.
  • View World Currency Exchange Rates.
  • Theme Support – customize the UI colors .
  • It’s a great example of WPF Media Center development and if you want wait for the RC1 version email Niall to get the Vista 5472 version

If you interested in Media Center development, in a few weeks I have a show on WFP development with Media Center and then using Media Center Markup Language with Vista Media Center

UPDATE: I have just tested it on build 5536 and it works great

Still features to come for Vista Media Center?

David Fleischman from the eHome team at Microsoft hints that there are still features to come for Media Center in Vista.

In his post "Dave – where did you go" he says:

"I’ve also been "dark" working on some new features for MCE. We still have a few surprises up our sleeves. :)."

So what could the "surprises" be? Media sharing (like the softsled project that have been talked about for years!) or maybe bulit in RSS support.

David asked what would you like to see him blog about

    Another of my new tracks

I have posted another of my new songs for download

This one features my vocals with very little processing! I am not the best singer in the world by a long way but its something I wanted to try.The sounds come mainly from a Korg Radias synth.

Its a very strange experience recording your own vocals. I have got used to hearing my voice from editing my weekly podcast but singing is different especialy when its your first proper attempt. I am a lot more comfortable putting my emotions in the music rather than the lyrics. I really admire writers that put there inner feeling in to song lyrics for all to hear.

Anyway have a listen and let me know what you think

    New apps for Media Center

Chris Lanier has links to some new and updated apps for Media Center:

UGuide has launched in beta for Media Center users to try out. UGuide can be used to view your program guides directly from Media Center on your cell phone (Java-enabled only). Not only can you view it, but UGuide also can send daily personalized recommendations to you and allow you to remotely schedule recordings!

More details on the Green Button

Yougle | Google Video and YouTube Via Media Center

Yougle is an update for the You Tube plug in that also enables you to search for Google Video content

HeatWave is a weather plug-in uses Managed DirectX to present it’s UI and looks and performs nicer then HTML. Looks great, although doesn’t work on Extenders just yet. Check out the forum thread at The Green Button for more.

    Thanks Chris!
